John 15:12-17

"This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other."

Mark Powls

CUSTODIAN/MAINTENANCE

Mark Powls was born on April 12, 1961, the youngest of five children, to parents, Bill and Wilma Powls of Garnett, Kansas.  He served in the military, as a public and private school music & P.E. teacher, earned advanced college degrees, owned a constructions company and built a commercial building on the square, and other crazy things. But according to Mark, his most important accomplishment is his marriage with Carmen Hofer and bringing two wonderful daughters into this world, Bethany and April Powls.

Mark is grateful for the opportunity to work for FCC part-time and serve his church family. He owns MP Vantage Solutions, LLC repairing musical instruments, tuning pianos, teaching instrumental music, and selling music accessories. Mark has a passion for the Lord, his family, and learning about American Founding History and Constitutions.  Mark loves to share what he learns with others so our inherent God-given liberties can be defended by all.

“Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from His mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground. So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”  Ephesians 6:10-17
